EVisa Illlustration

To visit Cuba in 2025 as a tourist you no longer need a paper ‘tourist card’. Tourists now enter Cuba with an electronic visa (eVisa).

The process for most nationalities is quite easy; you do not need to visit the consulate or submit lengthy paperwork, and very little information is required during the purchasing process.

The Cuba eVisa is valid for 90 days and can be renewed locally for an additional 90 days. It is good for one entry and expires one year after the issue date.

The tourist eVisa requirement applies to most foreigners in Europe, the Americas and Asia, but there are a handful of countries where the tourist visa process requires consular approval. You should check with your local consulate to see what entry requirements apply to your specific circumstances.

How to Purchase the Cuba eVisa from Cuban Adventures

You can apply for the eVisa with Cuban Adventures when booking your tour, or purchase the eVisa alone without any other service. This is the fastest and easiest way to purchase your eVisa with a credit card. You will typically receive a confirmation email and instructions for the eVisa within 3 business days of purchase.

The process for most nationalities is quite easy, you do not need to visit the consulate or submit lengthy paperwork. Importantly, you do not need to provide your passport number or personal details, this information is only required when you validate the eVisa (See below in step 4).

  1. On the visa request form, provide basic information (you DO NOT need to provide your passport number or DOB). We are not able to provide visas for citizens of these countries.

  2. Make your payment by your chosen method.

  3. 1-3 days after payment is made, an eVisa code is emailed to you along with a unique ink to the D’Viajeros customs and immigration form

  4. You will need to fill out the D’Viajeros form to validate the eVisa. The form is not accessible until 7 days before your arrival in Cuba. Read the D’Viajeros form instructions

  5. The eVisa will look like this:

Alternatively you can go to the Cuban government website. The price and method of payment for the eVisa is dependent on the consulate you have selected for your application, which does not necessarily need to be your nationality or residence. Only a few countries are able to pay with a credit card, most will require cash or cheque payment. Purchasing direct from the embassy may be the cheapest method to buy the eVisa, but is also usually the least efficient, and customer service may be lacking.

Nationalities Requiring a Consular Visa

Passport holders from some countries may not be able to use the tourist eVisa, they may need consular approval. These countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Uzbekistan, and Yemen. This list may change at any time, check with your consulate for more information.

It is important to note that in addition to the eVisa which is a Cuban government requirement, you will need to comply with a US government requirement that pertains to Cuba travel even if you do not live in the US. It is easy to do if you are taking one of our tours. Usually, tourists select the general license category Support for the Cuban People.
