Cuban Adventures - Salsa and Dance Classes in Havana, Cuba

Salsa school, Havana, Cuba We offer programs of dance classes in Havana of 5 days or more. Students of all levels of ability are welcome at the school. The main dance style taught at the school is salsa, however for advance level students, you can receive instruction in other styles including Son, Rumba, Orisha, and Cha Cha Cha. Salsa 'Styling' instruction is also included. The classes are held in small groups of up to 4 students, with one head teacher, plus one dance partner provided for each student. All teachers are professional dancers, and dance-school graduates from a school of arts in Cuba. The dance school is centrally located in the Vedado area of Havana, close the accommodation options we offer.

Weekly Dance Club Outing

Once a week, the dance school students are invited to join the dance teachers go out dancing to a dance club in Havana. More frequent outings to local dance clubs are possible with the dance teachers, however the student would be obliged to pay for the teacher's transport and entry to the dance club.

Levels of ability taught at school

Dance club, Havana, Cuba Instruction is provided for all levels of ability at the school:

Beginners - for students who have never danced salsa before, to dancers who are just starting. Basic steps, and fundamentals of dancing solo, and with a partner.
Intermediate - here you start to learn the basic vueltas (or 'turns') used in Cuban salsa dancing plus more development of basic steps and movements, as well as solo dancing.
Advanced - advanced students are provided with the chance to work with professional dancers on salsa styling, advanced vueltas, rueda de casino, as well as the opportunity to learn more in other styles including Son, Rumba, Orisha, and Cha Cha Cha.

5 nights accommodation
1 dance class of 55min per day (5 in total), at either 9:30am or 1:30pm. A program with 2 classes per day is possible. The second class comes an additional cost of US$15 per day.

Spanish language and dance classes combination

If you want to study both Spanish and dance in Havana, you can add Spanish classes to your dance program. For and extra US$25/day you can add 3 hours of Spanish classes, to the 55min of daily dance class. The daily program would then be:

Spanish classes: 9am to 12noon
Dance class: 1:30pm to 2:25pm

AIRPORT ARRIVAL TRANSFER
It is very safe and simple to catch your own taxi from the Havana Airport to your place of accommodation. Only official tourist taxis are allowed to pick up tourists at the airport, and the standard fare is 25CUC (don't pay more than this!). If you prefer us to send someone to pick you up at the airport and provide you with this transfer, our price is US$55 for up to 4 people. If your flight arrives to Varadero airport you can catch a taxi to the Viazul bus terminal. Click here to see the timetable.
