Frequently asked questions about our tours in Cuba
A passport valid for more than six months after your return date and a Cuba tourist visa are required. E-visas are now available which are valid for 90 days and extendable for another 90, for use within a year of purchase. All travellers, including those from the US, can buy an e-visa online through us as part of a Cuban Adventures tour package, or from other third party sellers and the Cuban embassy e-visa website. Check to see if you already have the e-visa included in your tour package, or add one to your booking.
Yes, we recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance for Cuba before travelling. Cuba requires all visitors to have medical insurance coverage. This can be purchased directly from Cuban Adventures for an additional fee—we are an authorised seller and partner to Asistur S.A. which is the official Cuban insurance organisation.
If you are flying directly from the US to Cuba, the same Asistur S.A insurance policy is automatically included in your ticket. Your boarding pass generally serves as proof of your insurance coverage.
We also recommend adding comprehensive coverage for potential trip disruptions like cancellations or flight delays.
Our tours and short-stay packages do not include flights to Cuba. Arrange your air travel through our affiliated booking partners, directly with airlines, or via your personal travel agent. We focus on providing exceptional in-country experiences while you make your preferred flight arrangements.
Yes, we provide complimentary airport pickup for all multi-day group tours, with select packages also covering return transfers. A team member will greet you with signage on arrival. If your tour does not include a transfer, we can add this service to your booking for an additional fee and more convenience.
Yes, of course! We can arrange for you to stay in a guesthouse in Havana for as long as you like on either side of your scheduled tour dates. Your accommodation will be arranged for you once your tour booking is confirmed. Please indicate your accommodation requirements and dates on your online booking form.
Travel in Cuba can mean accessibility challenges due to limited infrastructure development. Havana and other cities are often crowded with uneven sidewalks and public transportation isn’t usually wheelchair-friendly. Private transport is often the best option to see the country. If you require support, let us know before your scheduled departure date so we can arrange appropriate accommodations and transport throughout your trip.

Our tour guide was friendly, helpful, and informative. I met a lovely group of people and saw many parts of the island which would have been difficult to reach on my own. The activities were well thought out, with opportunities to spend more time with the group or do your own thing. This was one of my favourite trips after visiting many countries. My Cuban Adventures guide, Estefan, was incredibly organized, knowledgeable, and friendly. The staff that supported him, Dayana (local guide) and Carlos (driver) were wonderful too. Our trip took us to Havana, Viñales, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad, and I loved it all. Cuban Adventures made Cuba feel like home, and I was honestly sad to leave.
