At Big Planet Adventures we believe in making the world a better place. In this way we are proud to donate a proportion of our profits to charitable organisations that we believe make a positive and long lasting difference in the lives of less fortunate people. Medecin San Frontieres (MSF)

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international humanitarian aid organisation that provides emergency medical assistance to populations in danger in more than 70 countries. Big Planet Adventures makes a monthly donation to this organisation that has been setting up emergency medical aid missions around the world since 1971. There are no MSF missions in Cuba at present because the Cuban Government makes health care such a high priority, and in fact Cuba sends many thousands of its own doctors to other countries were people have far less access to medical care. In keeping with the Cuban Government's support of the notion that medical care is a human right, we made MSF the first organisation to receive our financial and moral support.

The International Ecotourism Society (TIES)

We fully embrace the concept of promoting and using a style of travel that is environmentally and socially sustainable, and became a member of The International Ecotourism Society (TIES) in 2008. As the world's oldest and largest ecotourism organisation, TIES is committed to promoting the principles of ecotourism and responsible travel. With the goal of uniting conservation, communities and sustainable travel, TIES serves its members in over 90 countries, as the global source of knowledge and advocacy in ecotourism. With the aid of TIES guidelines and suggestions, we developed our own Responsible Tourism Policy. Now our tour leaders and guides are all trained in sustainable and ecotourism practices.
